The Thiel Archives are housed on the first floor of the Langenheim Memorial Library. They are not open to the public except through arrangement by the archivist.
Alumni: Can you help us identify people and events? We've got old photographs that would be much more meaningful if we had some information!
See photos we think were taken in the 1970's and '80's

|The artifacts in the photos are among many housed in the Thiel Archives. The gear on the left belonged to Syd Hesse who played for the Tomcats between 1916 - 1920. The papier mache mascot head (and the suit as well) was likely used in the 1950's or early 60's. If anyone has any "history" attached to the items, one may contact the archivist or send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org .
The records of many Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia Lutheran synods and congregations, especially disbanded congregations, are housed in the TRI-SYNOD ARCHIVES administered by the Northwestern Pennsylvania Synod, Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod and West Virginia-Western Maryland Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
LOCATION: The TRI-SYNOD ARCHIVES is located on the lower level of Passavant Center on the campus of Thiel College. Thiel College provides the space for the Archives, but college staff is not involved in the administration or work of the Archives.
HOURS: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, Tuesdays and Thursdays
The archivist is usually in the Archives during these hours but sometimes is not because of meetings and work off-site. IF YOU WISH TO VISIT THE ARCHIVES IN PERSON, IT IS NECESSARY THAT YOU CALL OR WRITE AND SET UP AN APPOINTMENT. Limited hours and duties make it impossible to guarantee that the archivist will always be there during the posted hours.
